Job Description
This Process Development Scientist/Engineer position is in the Process Development and Technology department. The selected candidate will be responsible for study execution at bench-scale and pilot-scale related to manufacturing support and process transfer projects. Responsibilities include cGMP documentation, data review, and writing technical documents. The incumbent will be expected to work effectively under general supervision and contribute to the team effort to support R&D projects. Note: This position is located in Clayton, NC

- The individual will perform protein purification techniques including but not limited to precipitation, chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, and filtration.
- The candidate will perform accurate technical/cGXP documentation of activities and analyze / interpret analytical results.
- The candidate will need strong technical writing skill to author study protocols and reports.

Requirements:
- The candidate must have experience in protein purification techniques at bench-scale and/or pilot scale processes.
- Degree must be within a relevant field: (Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Biology)
- Bachelors or Masters degree with 1 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.
- Occupational Demands:
- Work is performed in a laboratory and pilot-scale production environment.
- Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.
- Exposure to electrical office equipment.
- Exposure to chemicals.
- Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.
- Frequently sits and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day.
- May stand and twist neck for 2-4 hours per day.
- Occasionally walks, bends and twists waist and squats.
- Moderate lifting of 25-50 lbs.
- May reach above and below shoulder height.

Pay Rate Range: $30-40/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience
