Senior Research Associate - Structural Biology

We are looking for a Senior Research Associate to join the Structural Biology (X-Ray Crystallography) team and support multiple oncology therapeutic programs, mostly through generation of protein crystal structures. Working from the bench, they will apply their expertise in protein purification, identification and optimization of crystallization conditions, and routine production and harvesting of co-crystals of protein and small molecules.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education: 

  • MSc. degree in biology, biochemistry, enzymology or related field with 1-2 years’ experience. BSc. degree and 3-5 years’ experience.

  • Experience with protein handling, characterization, and storage (FPLC or HPLC techniques like SEC and affinity chromatography. PAGE, quantitation via Bradford and nanodrop etc.).

  • Experience with protein-protein complexes including antibodies/Fabs, molecular glues, PROTACs, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow written protocols and document research progress.

  • Rigorous, quantitative, detail-oriented experimentalist.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Conscientious team-player interested in a fast-paced biotech environment.

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and improve processes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with growing and harvesting protein crystals. Prior use of crystallographic software suites (CCP4, Phenix) and visualization software (PyMOL, Chimera).

  • Experience with biophysical characterization such as MS, Thermal Shift Analysis, SPR a plus.

  • Experience with protein-ligand crystallization and refinement

  • Experience in protein expression including construct design and protein engineering.
