Overview: The company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, documenting mechanical portions of complex electrical test systems both in development and manufacturing to ensure the performance, safety, and reliability of our medical devices. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Mechanical Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating mechanical test fixtures and systems that are critical for the testing and verification of the company's medical devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory, to ensure that test fixtures meet all necessary requirements and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:

- Create detailed mechanical designs for test fixtures and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Develop and maintain mechanical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Select appropriate materials and components for fixture construction.
- Testing and Validation:

- Develop and execute test plans and protocols for fixture validation.
- Conduct mechanical testing and analysis to ensure fixture performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fixture design and operation.
- Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to ensure fixture designs meet all necessary requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Present design concepts and test results to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions in fixture design and manufacturing.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical design and testing technologies.
Must Have
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with designing tooling and fixtures used in both development and manufacturing.
- Experience with mechanical testing and validation methods.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and materials science.
Nice To Have
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and requirements for medical devices (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA).
