Job Description
The Senior Accountant 1, Stock Plan Administrator will be responsible for day-to-day stock administration of the Company's equity programs, which may include stock options, restricted stock units (RSUs), performance stock units (PSUs), employee stock purchase plans (ESPPs), and other long-term incentive plans. The administrator will work closely with our external stock plan administrator, Finance, Legal, and HR departments to ensure all equity transactions are conducted in accordance with the plan documents, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These may include but are not limited to: · Manage day to day equity transactions, including grant issuances, vesting’s, exercises and terminations.
· Actively monitor the stock plan administration mailbox and answer employee equity related inquiries.
· Maintain the stock plan database in Equity Edge Online (EEO), ensuring accuracy and integrity of all data.
· Coordinate with the payroll department to ensure accurate and timely tax withholding and reporting for equity transactions.
· Work closely with the external vendor and transfer agent to execute transactions.
· Prepare stock based compensation (SBC) accounting journal entries and reconciliations.
· Work with Legal and Finance departments to ensure compliance with SEC filings, including Forms 3, 4, and 5, and Section 16 reporting.
· Prepare reports and perform analysis related to equity plan activity for use by HR, Finance, and Senior Leadership.
· Assist with the design and implementation of new equity plans or modifications to existing plans.
· Assist with employee education and communication regarding stock plans.
· Develop and deliver educational programs to help employees understand equity compensation.
· Stay current on industry best practices and changes in regulations that may impact the company’s stock plans.
· Support financial reporting and audit activities related to stock-based compensation.
· Collaborate with internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual audits.
· Prepare proxy and equity disclosures for SEC filings.
· Play a key role in general process improvements and process documentation for all facets related to compensation accounting.
· Provide support for ad hoc analyses and other projects as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: · A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance plus a minimum 3 years of stock administration or relevant experience and knowledge of equity compensation plans.
· Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation is a plus.
· Working knowledge of Equity Edge Online preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: Equipment: PC, scanners, facsimile machine, voicemail, e-mail, and common office machines, or ability to be trained.
Software Knowledge: Windows, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Equity Edge Online, Great Plains, NetSuite, Oracle Fusion, ReQlogic, Blackline, and Workiva INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: · Routinely interact with cross functional teams, service providers and auditors, including Financial, Planning and Analysis, Legal, HR, Internal Auditors, External Auditors and vendors. EFFORT REQUIRED/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.  Pay Rate Range: $40-60/hr depending on experienceÂ
