Job Description

Target PR Range: 70-80/hr
*Depending on experience

Position Summary:
Manages many aspect of the general ledger, close and reporting processes, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and company policies and procedures.     

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Manages and coordinates month-end close activities;
Assists and prepares monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, which may include those related clinical trials and inventory;
Contract review and working with legal department to ensure contract administration processes are completed timely;
Reviews schedules, reports, journal entries and account reconciliations as necessary;
Engages with external and internal auditors to address audit requirements;
Assists with the Company’s SOX compliance efforts, including updating the Company’s internal control documentation;
Monitors accounting operations to ensure compliance with policies, practices and procedures; Prepares reviews
Identify process improvements and automation of activities;
Assists with technical accounting research guidance as necessary;
Prepares periodic and ad hoc financial reporting and analysis;
Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills:    
Must Possess:
ERP experience required; experience with Netsuite/Microsoft Dynamics and Management Reporter needed
Experience working in the life science industry is preferred;
Experience with clinical trial accounting is preferred;
Sarbanes-Oxley and PCAOB internal controls knowledge;
Knowledge of SEC Reporting and US GAAP;
CPA or in-process CPA preferred;
Self-motivated with strong integrity, organizational skills and attention to detail.
Must possess good communication skills
Must be collaborative in nature and work closely with a team, while also being self sufficient in tasks
Strong ability to pick up role quickly and be a strong individual contributor 

Education:    
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 6-8 years of progressively responsible related experience. MBA or professional certificates a plus.
