Active Ingredient Technician

Job Description
Duties:
- Weekend and holiday work as required
- Perform activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic clean room environment using virus and cell culture techniques according to USDA regulations
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures during process execution
- Assist with training and coaching current and new employees on required skills
- Complete and review in-process documentation for accuracy and compliance in a timely manner; maintain technical data and support documentation
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions to address problems; escalate production flow disturbances
- Demonstrate a visible commitment to Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives
- Assess individual performance with regard to continuous improvement (AAI)
- Participate in and provide support to site projects and initiatives, including deviation and change control management
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge of clean room and aseptic techniques
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Basic math skills and equipment/automation troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other database software systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Preferred: Biology degree or related field, with one year or more of laboratory and/or manufacturing experience
