Location: Sweden
 
Role Overview:
I'm currently partnered with my client who are global world class leaders in designing, manufacturing and distributing clinically relevant, state-of-the-art medical devices to alleviate human suffering and improve their quality of life.
They are always growing and with their current plans, they are looking for a Area Sales Manager for their orthopaedic function.

The Orthopaedic Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and driving sales within a designated geographic area, focusing on orthopaedic medical devices and solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of the orthopaedic market, excellent sales skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution:
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives within the assigned area.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market share by promoting and selling orthopaedic medical devices and solutions.
  • Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
 
Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, hospital administrators, purchasing managers, and other key decision-makers.
  • Provide product education and training to healthcare professionals, ensuring they are knowledgeable about our products and their benefits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to deliver exceptional customer support.
Territory Management:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the assigned territory, including key accounts, customer profiles, and market dynamics.
  • Plan and prioritize sales activities, including customer visits, product demonstrations, and participation in industry conferences and events.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and prepare reports to track progress against sales targets and identify areas for improvement.
 
Team Leadership:
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to a team of sales representatives within the assigned area.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and identify opportunities for skill development and training.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, promoting teamwork and a customer-centric approach.
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Proven track record of success in medical device sales, in the orthopaedic field.
  • Experience selling products related to hip and knee joint replacement / reconstruction field or selling hip/knee implants (your experience needs to be recent within the last two years).
  • Experience selling into hospitals.
  • Strong knowledge of orthopaedic medical devices, surgical procedures, and industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as required.
