Position Summary:
The Exploratory Neuroscience group is looking for a highly motivated associate scientist with an interest in CNS diseases. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and fast paced group focused on discovery and development of PROTACs. This temporary position is laboratory/wet bench based and requires proficiency in basic biochemistry skills, cell culture, the ability to deliver quality data in a timely manner, and work effectively with team members in support of small molecule drug discovery efforts.
This position will be located at our headquarters in New Haven, CT.
Principal Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and execute experiments, and perform data analysis
- Culture adherent and suspension mammalian cells; isolate and propagate clonal cell populations.
- Evaluate target protein degradation using Western blot, ELISA, or related techniques
- Document, compile, and interpret experimental data; manage laboratory notebook, databases, and/or spreadsheets to present data in a meaningful manner.
- Interact and collaborate with biology and chemistry team members to contribute to drug discovery and development program progression, present data at regular team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in methods for assessing protein levels in various bioassays (e.g. Western blots, ELISA, In Cell Western, or related techniques)
- Aseptic mammalian cell culture, including media preparation, cryopreservation, and clonal isolation and propagation.
- Strong communication skills, capable of independent and collaborative work.
- Open to constructive feedback, and freely asks questions.
Education/Requirements:
- B.S./M.S. Degree with 2+ years of experience in biology, neuroscience, or related field with sufficient laboratory experience to demonstrate mastery of the techniques outlined above.
