Biologist II, Biomolecular Interactions & Protein Science Analytics

Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine Protein Science Group is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated scientist. This role offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to all Discovery Research therapeutic areas and projects by providing analytical and functional characterization of our biopharmaceutical products, including monoclonal antibodies, multi-specifics, and antibody-like biologics. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in protein sciences and antibody discovery with a proven ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated scientist to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative and innovative setting.


Key responsibilities:

• Conduct Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) assays to generate objective selection criteria for panels of antibodies, multispecifics, and antibody-like biologics.

• Employ various protein characterization techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods, mass spectrometry (MS) analysis, spectroscopy, endotoxin measurements, and other bioanalytical methods to support the protein science workflow.

• Perform diverse protein modification and conjugation methods to facilitate discovery initiatives.

• Implement high-throughput epitope binning of monoclonal antibodies.

• Conduct antibody Fc characterization studies to support regulatory submissions.

• Analyze, document, and report data in a concise manner, ensuring timely delivery.

• Present original work internally across groups as necessary.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or related fields.

• Proven ability to independently execute and interpret experiments.

• Knowledge and hands-on experience with analytical/functional characterization of biologics using SPR, HPLC, MS analysis is preferred.

• Experience with protein-protein interaction analysis is a plus.

• Experience with protein modification and conjugation is a plus.

• Direct experience with biologics, monoclonal antibodies, and/or protein therapeutics is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

• A goal-oriented team player with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, a strong can-do attitude, and the capability to excel in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
