Job Description
Playing a critical role as a Biomarker Operations and Sample Management Specialist within Translational Medicine function, the position will be providing biomarker operational expertise to the clinical study team, developing scope of work and maintaining effective working relationships with CROs and central labs, overseeing the clinical sample shipment and reconciliation, and managing timelines for sample testing and data transfer to align with clinical trial schedule. Pay rate range: $55-65/hr
The Opportunity:
As a Biomarker Operations and Sample Management Specialist in Translational Medicine, you will:

Provide operational support to biomarker and diagnostic scientists.

Works in close collaboration with biomarker scientists and clinical operations team.

Provide biomarker sample management process plan to key stakeholders.

Perform day-to-day operational management of CROs to ensure timely delivery of data with high standard of quality.

Facilitate central lab manual set up, including kit design, sample processing instructions and logistics.

Manage outsourcing to CROs, oversee development of the scope of work, budgets and timelines.

Ensures timely and efficient delivery of all biomarker operational activities within clinical programs.

Manage sample transfer and assist sample reconciliation between central labs, biomarker vendors/CROs, and central biorepository.

Provide sample and assay status updates to biomarker and diagnostic sub-teams.
Education, Experience and Skills Requirement:

Life sciences degree (BS or MS) in Scientific, Medical, Healthcare or related discipline.

2+ years related professional experience in a clinical research setting, clinical/diagnostic laboratory, or pharmaceutical/biotech R&D environment.

Prior experience of working in teams running clinical studies is a plus.

Prior experience in clinical biomarker operation and/or sample management is highly desirable.

Excellent scientific and business communication skills, strong interpersonal/collaboration skills and planning skills.

Ability to think critically and creatively and be able to work independently to determine appropriate resources for resolution of problems.

Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment.

Experience using Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
