The Technology and Therapeutic Platforms (TTP) group is seeking a contractor to join the Advanced Chemistry Technology (ACT) team. We are looking for an individual with a BS in Chemistry (preferably Organic Chemistry) or an MS in Chemistry, who will be involved in multiple chemistry technology development and library production synthesis processes.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve a high level of productivity in the laboratory by supporting other chemists in library production and processing, as well as managing your own library production runs. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of a wide array of experimental techniques and methods in organic synthesis and data analysis. Continuously seek out and acquire knowledge of emerging chemistry technologies. Develop a deep understanding of these technologies and master their application within the laboratory setting to enhance research and development processes. Leverage available information and technical expertise to effectively address and solve key challenges in chemistry technology, specifically in areas such as library synthesis and data analysis. Clearly and effectively write and communicate research reports and updates. Utilize email communication to ensure results are promptly and accurately conveyed to fellow chemists.
Show a high degree of responsibility in maintaining scientific standards and safe laboratory practices.
Work closely with functional and technical experts to facilitate scientific achievement.

Basic Qualifications

BS or MS in Chemistry. Demonstrated ability to resolve project hurdles by effectively using available information and technical expertise. Evident knowledge in the field of chemistry. A BS in Chemistry with over 2 years of industry experience, or an MS in Chemistry at the introductory level. Preferred candidates will have experience with the use of lab automation. This includes familiarity with automated laboratory equipment, robotic systems, and software tools designed to streamline and enhance experimental processes, thereby improving efficiency and accuracy in data collection and analysis. Previous experience conducting research in a laboratory setting is highly desired. This includes hands-on involvement in scientific experiments, data collection, and analysis, showcasing a solid understanding of laboratory protocols and best practices.

Job Responsibilities and behaviors

This position is exclusively lab-based, and remote work is not permitted. Engaging in related activities during working hours is strictly prohibited. Laboratory work takes precedence over meetings, with the exception of ACT group meetings. In addition to running your own libraries, if lab requests are minimal, you are expected to assist other ACT chemists with their transfers. You will also contribute to other ongoing lab projects as needed. Demonstrate a strong willingness to perform your duties effectively. Professional behavior and respectful communication are imperative in our collaborative work environment.

Expectations and Conduct

Prioritize lab work and ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks. Be proactive in offering assistance to colleagues when workload is light. Maintain a professional demeanor and communicate respectfully with all team members.
