Job Description
Target Pay Rate: 24.50/hr **salary will be commensurate with experience
Job Description:
- Maintains equipment in the lab and, under direct and constant supervision of a licensed CLS, assists the licensed CLS staff in operating automated equipment used in the high complexity tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individual's education, training or experience, and technical abilities.
- Follows the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling, preparation, receipt and data entry in to LIMS
- Adheres to procedures for all processes of the lab including but not limited to processing DNA samples through the Infinum assay
- Daily operation of liquid-handling robots and array scanner to meet daily and weekly production goals
- Carries out daily/weekly/monthly maintenance schedules to ensure that the laboratory equipment is operating properly
- Maintains lab supplies and consumables; keeping lab stocked of appropriate reagents and materials
- Tracks and reports all lab incidents
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and be able to recognize when to escalate issues encountered in the lab
- Proper documentation on batch records during processing and providing documentation for any deviations that may occur
- Prioritizes activities and assignments; adjusting priorities as appropriate
- Detail-oriented, time-organized, and ensures completion of tasks
- Takes immediate action when confronted with a problem
- Follows all safety rules at client and applies all relevant protocols to his/her work
- Ability to perform functions accurately
- Works to overcome obstacles to completing tasks or assignments
- Communicates professionally and effectively with both internal and external personnel
- Works effectively in team environment and shares credit for successes. Is receptive to ideas and feedback from others
- Communicates WIP (work in progress) to next shift
- Communicates issues with equipment to engineering via ticketing system
- Other duties as determined by Management
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
- BSc/MS
- 1+ years molecular biology laboratory experience preferred
