Job Description

SUMMARY
This position supports the New Product Development (NPD) process to bring medical device products from feasibility, through development, and launch. Under the supervision of R&D NPD Engineers and Managers, the CAD Drafter/Designer will prepare product documentation including but not limited to detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of components or assemblies using the SolidWorks Computer Aided Design (CAD) system or other CAD software. This individual will be working from verbal and written instructions, marked prints, sketches and engineering design calculations. 

RESPONSIBILITIES • Ability to follow oral or simple written instructions and procedures
• Discuss project requirements directly with persons for whom the work is being done
• Work with engineers to resolve any problems that may arise during prototyping and manufacturing
• Prepare models and drawings on using SolidWorks software under minimum supervision, working from verbal and written instruction, marked prints, sketches and engineering design calculations
• Communicate professionally to engineers and cross-functional stakeholders
• Work independently as a problem solver and self-manage time for multiple projects/customers
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS • AS, BS, or technical degree in Engineering/Graphic Arts
• Strong SolidWorks modeling experience
• Knowledge of AutoCAD
• Knowledge of drawing and dimensioning standard
• Experience with components and assembly drawings
• Experience making design changes to existing SolidWorks/AutoCAD drawings
• Strong written and verbal communication skill



  Pay Rate Range: $20-28/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience
