Contract Formulation Research Associate, Pharmaceutical Development
We have an opening for a formulation research associate position. This position is contract-based and resides in Pharmaceutical Development within CMC function, the position will be responsible for pre-formulation studies, and pre-clinical formulation preparation, characterization, and troubleshooting in support of Revolution Medicines pipeline compound development.
Responsibilities:

Be responsible for the pre-clinical formulation, and if needed early clinical formulation development.

Organize workflow and scheduling for in-house formulation requests and related tasks.

Independent in managing in-house preclinical formulation support and on-time delivery of requested pre-clinical formulations.

Working closely and collaborating with in-house, and external CRO teams for formulation/process development works.

Closely interact with cross-functional pre-clinical teams to provide timely formulation support.

Perform routine formulation preparation works to support in-house formulation requests.

Conduct formulation stability, dose analysis, and verification using HPLC, and conduct trouble shooting for formulation-related issues.

Maintain good lab notebook record (i.e. ELN) to document formulation preparation process and test results.

Write, revise, and update formulation preparation protocols in a timely manner.

Supporting efforts to maintain and organize all formulation protocols up to date.

Conduct pre-formulation studies, such as solubility and stability studies as needed.

Develop HPLC analytical methods or optimizations for formulation support.

Manage lab equipment and conduct lab activities for troubleshooting or solid/formulation characterization, and support new equipment acquisitions, installations, and training.

Provide formulation preparation training or lab equipment training to Team Members if needed.

Help to maintain and manage lab activities, such as chemical inventories, calibrations, and safety for example.

Provide support to PDM Team for work requests related to API and formulations on as needed basis.

Provide support to the Drug Product Team on assigned projects on a needed basis.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
-
Preferably a BS and/or MS degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related discipline.

3+ years of relevant experience in formulation or analytical or bioanalytical development

Experience in preclinical formulation development and support in-house formulation preparations and management.

Hands-on experience in bench-scale analytical works and formulation preparations.

Hands-on experience in pre-formulation characterization and formulation. preparation/characterization to support pre-clinical study.

Proficient in HPLC or relevant equipment for formulation analysis and characterizations.

Working experience of analytical skills for solubility, or basic solid-state characterization.

Excellent planning, good organization skills, and problem-solving skills.

Self-starter, ability to pay attention to details, and with good documentation skills.

Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment.

Excellent communication (both verbal and technical) and problem-solving skills.
