Job Title: Data Analyst
Purpose:
Describe the primary goals, objectives or functions or outputs of this position.
The Data Analyst will support AbbVie’s Convergence Governance organization by providing process knowledge and statistical expertise to drive data-driven decision making. The analyst synthesizes and leverages datasets based on data sources with process knowledge of all the key processes in Convergence, particularly engages with the business and IT on (data) governance to make sure that Data and Business Processes are aligned, with high-performance and agile processes as result. The Data analyst will work for cross function with IT to develop and implement data-driven solutions that support the company's goals, in line with Convergence Governance requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, as well as experience with data visualization and reporting tools.

Responsibilities:
•Passionate and maintains pragmatic approach to all data conclusions and solutions in large datasets
•Effectively analyzes diverse sources of data to achieve targeted outcome
•Apply modeling concepts to solve medium-complex business questions
•Support the development of an “analytical capability” and “big data” concepts to become the business expert in these areas
•Closely collaborates with IT and business partners to set priorities and provides support on Business Data Management (Governance)
•Translates large data sets, analysis and complex models in usable, effective and presentable data to key stakeholders to drive business improvement opportunities
•Effectively participate in cross-functional project teams
•Participate in production of innovative analytic solutions that drive existing and changing business processes and business strategies

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field such us Advanced Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Operational Research, Computer Science
• 3+ years of experience in data analysis
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
• Proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases, relational databases (Teradata, Oracle etc.), and/or BI tools (PowerBI, Qliksense). Experience with data visualization/pipelining tools (e.g., Spotfire, Tableau, Pipeline Pilot etc.) and automated statistical process control platforms (e.g., Discoverant, Statistica, NWA, etc.) is preferred.

• Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a diverse team including data engineers, IT, and business analytics teams.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities on tight deadlines.
