  • 10+ Years design experience in medical device industry, Class III experience helpful, but not required.
  • Experience in a fast paced product development atmosphere.
  • Experienced in the design and assembly of precision prototype and assembly fixturing.
  • Experienced in the design of plastic and metal injection molded parts, and of machined metal and plastic parts, for electromechanical enclosures, microprocessor-controllers, batteries, AC/DC Adapter Cables.
  • Expert proficiency with SolidWorks CAD modeling software.
  • Ability to create and maintain detailed mechanical part and assembly documentation.
  • Thorough knowledge of ANSI Drafting Standards.
  • SME proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) practices.
  • Ability to perform detailed tolerance stack-up analysis of precision assemblies.
  • Familiarity with FDA documentation requirements
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to create detailed designs efficiently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of engineering materials, especially engineered plastics and polymers
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Strong Technical Writing Skills



Education Required:
2-year AA or SWP Certification minimum

Years’ Experience Required:
10+


 
  • Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations.
  • Design, document, assemble and test precision prototype and production fixturing.
  • Assist in the design and development of various mechanical and electromechanical components used in MCS products.
  • Assist with bench testing of assemblies and parts to ensure performance
  • Maintain top level engineering documentation.
  • Perform Design Validation testing
  • Writing Protocols & Reports



Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools, such as CAD, CAM, CATIA, ProEngineer/Creo, Solidworks or Siemens NX Software.
SolidWorks SME proficiency preferred.

Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal.
Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
 

Must Have
