Target Pay Rate: 30-44.65/hr **salary will be commensurate with experience 

Job Description: 


This contract Embedded Software Test Engineer will be responsible for defining, implementing, executing, and documenting embedded software tests for Radiology medical devices. The incumbent will be independently responsible for developing test portions of complex software projects.

Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Bachelors Degree (Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering preferred or equivalent certificates)
  • Minimum 1-6 years of experience developing tests for embedded software systems
  • Demonstrated high-performance orientation, project achievement, and strong attention to detail
  • Skill in both analysis of complex problems and synthesis of solutions
  • Excellent oral, written, and listening skills
  • Excellent persuasion and consensus building with ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Self-directed attitude towards organization and prioritization of work assignments
  • Experience developing applications for Real-time Operating Systems, such as SafeRTOS or VxWorks
  • Experience with low-level device drivers for serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI and I2C
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
  • Experience developing test applications which use TCP/IP communication protocols
  • Experience writing test for software interfaces
  • Experience using source control systems, such as Git
  • Experience writing software unit and integration tests in frameworks such as CPPU Test, Google test
  • Experience developing medical software tests in compliance with IEC 62304 (preferred)
  • Experience using ARM processors, such as ST or NXP i.MX processors (preferred)
  • Experience with white-box and black-box testing (preferred)
  • Experience developing Linux test applications (preferred)

Key Tasks:
  • Translating system level requirements into lower-level test requirements
  • Defining, implementing, executing, and documenting embedded software unit and integration tests
  • Leading and participating in Test Reviews
  • Interfacing with software and hardware engineers
  • Ensuring work products are robust in terms of utility, reliability, agency approvals and safety
  • Executing efforts for complex projects
  • Providing timely communication of project risks and issues, including an ability to meet established commitments
  • Working collaboratively within multi-disciplined teams to achieve program technical and schedule objectives
