Must Have

  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Prepare project plans and project progress reports.
  • Extensive report writing experience
  • Mechanical aptitude

Nice To Have
  • automated testing methods
  • Certificate of LabVIEW
  • Experience with solid modeling software such as Pro/Engineer or Solidworks

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in prototype development and mechanical testing within our engineering lab.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct mechanical testing using specialized equipment to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototypes focusing on medical hardware applications.
  • Follow validation protocols and procedures to ensure prototypes meet specified criteria and standards.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues encountered during prototype development and testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of design iterations test results and project progress using document control processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and designers to discuss designs convey ideas and report findings.
  • Demonstrate precision and attention to detail in all aspects of prototype fabrication testing and documentation.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Uphold high-quality and reliability standards in all lab activities ensuring ethical conduct in handling proprietary and sensitive information.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing methods and equipment for evaluating prototype performance and reliability.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Excellent documentation skills to maintain accurate records of design changes test results and project milestones.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities while maintaining attention to detail and precision.
