In Vitro/Metabolomics Research Associate II

Job Description
This position will be an integral member of a team providing screening support for the validation of novel CNS targets and the development of first-in-class drugs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing in vitro pharmacological characterization of small molecule drug candidates using enzymatic, gel-, or substrate-based assays in lysates and live cell systems. Experience with mass spectrometry preferred but not required, as this position will be involved in sample preparation for LC/MS-based analysis of small molecules. This person will be responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to project teams with minimal supervisor assistance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- BS in Biology or equivalent degree in related science discipline
- 3+ years of lab/bench experience in a scientific academic and/or scientific industry setting
- Laboratory experience/skills in biochemistry, molecular and cell biology
- Experience with mammalian cell culture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal/collaborative skills
- Both effective team player and strong individual contributor, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks and deliver high quality results under tight timelines
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
