Job Description


Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D. degree with 1-8 years working experience in autoimmune diseases, immunology and/or immuno-oncology research. Additional experience in in vivo pharmacology, flow cytometry, cell culture experience is also highly desired. The individual will work hands on at the research bench with oncology mouse models for drugs efficacy and safety studies;FACS; murine models for autoimmune diseases, oncology and/or immuno-oncology and inflammatory diseases models.

 

The salary range is $80,580 - $110,000. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

 

 

Responsibilities

• Works at the research bench on multiple studies simultaneously. Provides project managers and study directors with regular updates regarding status of studies.

• Leads a team of research technicians in supporting the department’s product lines

• Follows and supports all institutional policies, procedures and practices including compliance with IACUC and animal welfare standards. Ensures that technicians understand and are compliant with all policies, procedures and practices established by the organization.

• Oversees technician staff working on study and provides scientific and technical support as needed.

• Supports and implements the development of new models for drug discovery in the areas of oncology and/or immunology. Ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience managing technician staff preferred. Proven ability to develop and implement process improvement and quality control measures. Extremely organized and detail oriented.

 

Qualifications
  • Individuals with a Ph.D. (and/or M.D.) in oncology, immunology or animal pharmacology and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a contract research laboratory, pharmaceutical industry, or equivalent experience.
  • • Experience with in vivo study design and animal research (preferably rodents) and animal welfare and regulatory guidelines.
  • • Documented ability to develop and lead technical teams.
  • • Strong leadership skills including a demonstrated ability to build key relationships, influence and motivate others.
  • • Demonstrated success in making important decisions, often under some pressure and tight time deadlines, which carry large financial consequences.
  • • Must have excellent human relation, communication and listening skills.
  • • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
