Target Pay Rate: 19.75/hr **salary will be commensurate with experience 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide routine laboratory tasks to assist team members with lab maintenance, cleanliness, and preparations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma. Related work (~1-2 yrs related work experience) preferred

ESSENTIAL TASKS: Employee must be able to perform the following functions to the satisfaction of the employee’s supervisor.
  • · Schedule preparation of routine laboratory buffers and solutions; maintain and reorder materials for buffers
  • · Complete daily laboratory walk-throughs and safety checks.
  • · Store and dispose of hazardous wastes using safety procedures. Communicate any Waste Stream management "issues" to area supervisors or Safety Specialist.
  • · Communicate with lab supervisor special needs and maintenance of lab facilities.
  • · Enforce lab safety codes in all lab areas to ensure employee safety.
  • · Support inventory tracking system in place for all supplies and special equipment.
  • · Coordinate purchasing of supplies and special equipment with laboratory supervisor.
  • · Maintain cleanliness and organization within lab spaces, entrance areas, gowning rooms, lab hallways, and lab management storage areas.
  • · Familiarity with safety data sheets and chemical hygiene practices
  • · Strong communication, organizational and time management skills are essential.
  • · Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) a plus.
  • · Ability to gown up in a cleanroom suit during performance of work in an ISO 6/7 lab environment.
  • · Knowledge of ISO 6/7 cleanroom standard protocol and operations a plus.
  • · Experience working with Research and Development end users in a lab setting preferred.
  • · Perform clerical tasks as needed.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate effectively in a tactful and courteous manner with a variety of people, including laboratory employees, staff, outside suppliers and the public.

EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE: Current lab equipment used by the company; current information technology used by the department, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, SAP, Outlook, office machines such as telephones, or copiers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • · Environment: Work is performed primarily in a lab setting with frequent interruptions and distractions; the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals; the employee is frequently exposed to risk of chemical
  • hazards, explosive hazards, burn hazards and electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • · Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a lab setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
  • · Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Able to work in a cleanroom environment where the light is yellow due to photosensitive materials.

PPE: Work for extended periods in an ISO 6 cleanroom where you are properly gowned up in a cleanroom/bunny suit.
