Target Pay Rate: 23-27.15/hr **salary will be commensurate with experience
Job Description:
This position will encompass two primary responsibilities.
• First, the registration and inventory of research samples. The individual will work with staff scientists to catalog research samples stored in -70C freezers and enter information into a sample management database.
• Second, the qualified candidate will perform laboratory manager functions including, but not limited to, generating work orders, scheduling equipment maintenance and conducting lab safety inspections.
Qualifications:
Education: • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field. Required: • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel) or other spreadsheet-based applications. • Understanding of basic laboratory and cell culture techniques. Preferred: • Candidates with data entry or sample management experience. • Knowledge of sample repository/sample inventory software / Benchling databases a plus. • Previous industry experience working with biological samples preferred. • Familiarity with biosafety level classification or infectious disease classification (BSL2 or BSL3 environments) a plus. The ideal candidate must be comfortable primarily working by themselves, but be willing to work in a small team when needed and able to take direction. Note: • 6 months assignment. Extension possibility. • Hybrid assignment, (1-2 days/ week remote), prior approvals needed from supervisor to work remotely.
