Job Description
The Legal Counsel serves as a legal advisor to the Company’s global pharmaceutical business, advising its leadership, managers, and other stakeholders on contract negotiations, dispute resolution, policy and compliance matters, novel business issues, and contributing to the development and implementation of relevant policies and risk management strategies. The incumbent actively develops, supports, and contributes to the continuous improvement of legal processes and procedures including development of contract templates, risk mitigation strategies, and function-specific legal research. The incumbent also supports the Company’s corporate initiatives, including corporate administration, transactions, dispute resolution, and other legal department initiatives, as required.
This position is considered a hybrid position with four days/week working onsite and Fridays as remote working days. Only candidates local to the Cary, NC area will be considered.**
Summary Of Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with VP, Legal & General Counsel, and other members of the Legal Affairs department, in the negotiation, drafting, and review of legal documents.
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of the Company’s contract database.
- Generate and update the Company’s contract templates, as well as its corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist the VP, Legal & General Counsel, and other members of the Legal Affairs department, with the Company’s corporate governance matters.
- Work cross-functionally with numerous Company departments, including, but not limited to: Sales, Market Access, Finance, Marketing, Clinical Operations, Supply Chain, and Human Resources, by providing legal support, as needed, to further the Company’s day-to-day business objectives.
- Assist in the management of the Company’s liability insurance portfolio.
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Admitted to practice law in a US state
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant legal experience in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry
- Experience in one of the following areas strongly preferred: data protection and privacy; clinical development; or intellectual property
- Excellent contract draft and negotiating skills
- Capacity to provide practical, business-focused advice
- Comprehensive knowledge of general corporate business practices
- Strong interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commercial awareness
- Exceptional organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Pro
- Travel Requirements: Approximately 10%
Salary Range: 100-220k. Salary will be commensurate with experienceÂ
