Target PR Range: 50-60/hr

Position Summary:
The Manager of People Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of the People & Performance (P&P) department, focusing on ensuring compliance, managing employee data, and optimizing processes to enhance the employee experience. This role will also be responsible for leading key HR projects and process improvements that impact the broader organization, ensuring seamless operations across HRIS, onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle management.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle Management:
    Manage and oversee HRIS processes related to employee onboarding, offboarding, and life-cycle management, ensuring data integrity and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Serve as the primary contact for resolving HRIS-related issues and providing data reports as needed.
  • ServiceNow & Employee Inquiries:
    Oversee the ServiceNow service ticketing system, responding to or assigning employee inquiries. Regularly track and report on service metrics, collaborating with IT to update system configurations and improve response efficiency.
  • Data Integrity & Reporting:
    Maintain the accuracy of employee data in HRIS systems such as Workday. Ensure the timely preparation and filing of compliance reports (e.g., EEO-1, ACA). Develop dashboards to monitor HR metrics, and collaborate with internal teams to address employee data requests.
  • Process Improvement & Project Management:
    Lead process mapping and improvements across P&P functions, ensuring that HR operations are efficient, effective, and enhance the employee experience. Manage key HR projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met while proactively identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Compliance & Policy Management:
    Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. Oversee the creation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures, such as the Employee Handbook, ensuring regular updates to reflect changes in regulations. Support compliance initiatives such as SOX and HIPAA.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding:
    Manage the tactical onboarding process, ensuring all documentation is compliant and up to date. Partner with IT and internal teams to optimize the onboarding and offboarding experience. Regularly review workflows for continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Support:
    Work closely with Payroll, IT, Legal, and other departments to ensure accurate employee data management and resolve issues. Serve as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation administration, ensuring compliance with medical and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Employee Relations & Training Support:
    Support initiatives related to employee relations, performance management, and talent development. Assist in the creation and administration of SOPs for People Operations processes. Facilitate the implementation of HR compliance training across departments.
  • Project Support for HR & Compliance Initiatives:
    Oversee HR Operations’ involvement in larger People & Performance projects, such as talent development, compensation data analytics, and organization design. Manage timelines, deliverables, and risk assessments for HR projects.

 
Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in HR operations, with 2 years in a management role. Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or high-tech environments is a plus.
  • Proficient in HR systems, with strong experience in Workday and Microsoft Office, including Powerpoint & Excel (including pivot tables, V-lookups).
  • Demonstrated expertise in HR compliance, project management, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of work.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent experience.

 

Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in HR operations, with 2 years in a management role. Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or high-tech environments is a plus.
