1.   POSITION SUMMARYÂ
The scope of this position includes leading the US ID Commercial pharmacy market initiative. Â Through the Public Health Emergency (PHE) pharmacies have been given authority to test and prescribe treatment for COVID-19 and other Influenza Like Illnesses (ILI) which include Influenza and RSV tests. Â The goal of the pharmacy initiative is to secure long term testing access post-PHE and provide a clear regulatory and reimbursement path for this decentralized setting. Â
The Market Advocacy Pharmacy Lead will influence both internal and external stakeholder  activities to positively secure legislative wins in 2023 at both the federal level and in 8 focus states, as well as drive presence to educate on testing in pharmacy at pharmacist meetings and other educational outlets (webinars, mailers, etc.).  Â
This individual will report to the Director, ID US Customer Marketing and work closely with internal stakeholders including:  Senior Leadership, Government Affairs Team (Federal, State, Reimbursement Policy), Market Access, Commercial Leadership Team, Medical Education, Customer Marketing and Public Affairs.  This person will also manage outside agencies to support advocacy efforts, market research and communications development.  There are numerous outside stakeholders including key retail partners, newly formed coalitions and industry associations working to secure long term access for pharmacy to test and treat.Â
2.   CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
•   Drive Pharmacy initiative through collaborative efforts with both internal and external stakeholders.  Key areas to address include both access to testing, pharmacist education on the value of testing and positive reimbursement for Pharmacy testing.Â
•   Engage with external customers, pharmacy associations and advocacy groups to drive narrative and to ensure alignment efforts.
•   Actively manage external agencies in development of advocacy strategies, pharmacist education and communication tools.Â
•   Direct development and deployment of pharmacy campaign assets for use by Government Affairs team, Coalitions, Medical Education and Customer Marketing, as appropriate.
•   Incorporate insights from the market research (focus groups and polling data) and best practices from states currently delivering pharmacy testing into campaign messaging and materials including potential events.
•   Develop pharmacy support materials to promote pharmacy testing in markets with favorable regulations but little uptick due to awareness or reimbursement hurdles.
•   Work with ID Retail team on current ID NOW pharmacy testing sites to help fuel early success and to help address obstacles that may arise.
•   Work to address advocates (e.g. physicians) who will likely stand to challenge change at every stage and will erect obstacles in our path.
•   Contribute to the broader ID organization as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the US Pharmacy Market.  Â
3.   EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
•   Ten (10) + years of relevant pharmacy industry experience.  History in pharmacy clinical services, especially point-of-care (POC) diagnostics and molecular platforms preferred.  Â
•   Demonstrated understanding of the varied payment models utilized at the sites of care for the ID testing portfolio.
•   Strong marketing skills in the pharmacy clinical services space and/or marketing to pharmacists.
•   Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to create and deliver professional and impactful presentations to senior leaders.
•   Strong multi-tasking and project management skills needed.
•   Demonstrates understanding of the applicable industry regulations and quality management systems including product labeling and claims.
•   Bachelor’s degree required.  MD, PhD, PharmD, MBA preferred.
