About the team The OMNI Translational Medicine department provides translational science support to inform the clinical development of novel personalized therapeutics in disease areas of Ophthalmology, Metabolism, Neuroscience, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases (OMNI). Our biomarker strategies are designed to study the molecular pathways driving the disease and establish our therapeutics' mechanism of action. We focus on prognostic, predictive, and pharmacodynamic biomarkers to enable our vision of the right drug for the right patient at the right dose. Position Summary

As a member of the biomarker mass spectrometry team, the ideal candidate will assist with the design and execution of mass spectrometry experiments including sample preparation, method development, method qualification, and data analysis in order to help improve assess biomarker candidates from using proteomic approaches.

Qualifications
  • Preferred candidates will have a BS, MS, or Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, statistics, bioengineering, bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or a related field
  • Prior experience in designing, developing, and qualifying mass spectrometry assays
  • Experience in developing custom methods for sample preparation and MS analysis including solid phase extraction, protein precipitation, column desalting, etc
  • Preferred candidates will have experience with producing high-quality datasets from targeted LC-MS/MS experiments
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts and algorithms to solve problems in biology, engineering, business, or medicine
  • Familiar with triple quadrupole mass spectrometers and companion analyzing software
  • Experience with plotting mass spectrometry results in final figure form (heatmap, volcano plot, PCA, etc) is preferred
  • Interface and work collaboratively with different CROs and lab partners
  • Experience analyzing big sets of data using (GraphPad, Spotfire, or R)
  • Proven record of delivering results (e.g. publications)
  • In addition, the candidate should have excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently as well as in a team environment and be willing and eager to learn new technologies 

Target Pay Rate Range: $65-70/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience
