Global HEOR Analytics in our rare disease business unit’s supports the HEOR and global medical affairs organization to generate evidence on value of our medicines to patients through analysis of various types of real world medical and clinical data. This year, Global HEOR Analytics has a key goal to develop a new capability with associated platforms and tools to process unstructured data in the form of literature publications, conference abstracts, internal reports and other sources, extract insights on our disease indication for supporting evidence generation needs. The NLP and data science contractor will work closely with the Global HEOR analytics team and the Data Digital function to develop data processing pipelines, implement public and commercial NLP engines /algorithms, test them on some very specific use cases and develop in collaboration with our analytics team and external vendor partners a robust insights generation platform.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
? Utilizes in-depth knowledge of NLP algorithms, text mining, analytical approaches to build and test pipelines to process unstructured data to extract insights of interest.
? Work closely with our Medical science liasons, Data and Digital team to understand the scientific and medical needs, questions and translate to automation processes.
? Work closes with vendors to assess their platforms. Engage our counterparts to explore and leverage tools and platforms for our purpose.
? Collaborate with our inhouse analytics experts, train them on latest NLP engines, work closely with the project managers to ensure timely delivery, update to project plans.
? An academic background in a quantitative sciences, and or strong understanding of medical/clinical practice and areas of epidemiology, health economics and outcomes research.
? Strong python programming (at least 3 years of experience) and other software development/coding best practices.
? Deep understanding with at least 2 years of experience in text mining, NLP pipelines, sentiment analysis, expertise in open source text mining packages, algorithms.
? Experience working in cloud based environment, AWS services, knowledge graphs, semantic data models.
? Experience working with Scibite, Linguamatics, and any other commercial text analytics/NLP platforms. Familiarity with biological/medical ontologies, taxonomies. Pubmed, clinical trials.gov and similar data sources.
Pay Range: 80-100/hr
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
