Medical Information Specialist

General Summary: The Medical Information Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance of department processes, procedures, programs, and systems across Global Medical Information (GMI). Responsibilities include serving as the gatekeeper and monitor for several databases, generating metrics for varying audiences, and proofreading medical content. The Medical Information Specialist interacts with both internal staff and external vendors to meet department goals and objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintains multiple medical information processes and/or systems to facilitate attainment of GMI goals and objectives • Collaborates with the GMI Team to ensure that GMI processes and/or systems are adhered to and provides feedback to upper management on processes and/or systems that are not working for their intended purpose or which may need adjustment or updating • Supports processes and/or systems updates through content management, access control, and ad hoc reporting • Works with internal staff and/or vendors to facilitate the utilization of GMI processes and/or systems to achieve GMI goals and objectives • Oversees discrete projects and reports progress and/or challenges to upper management for mediation • Supports GMI reporting and analytics projects related to key performance indicators

Knowledge and Skills: • Possesses strong customer service and organization skills • Demonstrates professional and diplomatic interpersonal skills, both written and verbal • Ability to perform detail-oriented work and maintain downstream project or system timelines and objectives • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree
