Job Description
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Accounting, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for accurately and timely processing payroll through ADP. The candidate will be the primary payroll contact and handle all payroll related matters. Ideally the candidate will also help with ad hoc projects as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience in:

Complete end to end ownership of processing complex semi-monthly payroll using ADP Workforce Now.

Processing equity, multi-state payroll and LOAs.

Ensure new state payroll tax registrations and garnishment are complete in collaboration with ADP.

Preparation of payroll in a public company environment with controls.

Collaborate and partner with HR on payroll related matters.

Analyze payroll and benefits related accounts for unusual trends to ensure accurate reporting.

Prepares compensation and benefit information to support the proxy and tax provision.

Reviews and reconciles quarterly and annual, federal, and state, payroll tax returns, and form W-2s.

Participation in process improvements, financial system enhancements and special projects as needed.

Prepares information required to complete the 401(k) audit and the workers compensation insurance audit.

Assistance with keeping employee accounts accurate and updated between various systems such as Etrade, Coupa and Smartsheet.
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business with five to ten years of relevant experience in payroll, public company and pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now required.
- Working knowledge and research capability of applicable local, state and federal law pertinent to benefits administration.
- Ability to work independently, protect and safeguard confidential information, great attention to detail and to meet deadlines.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to anticipate events, prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with interdepartmental teams.
- Innovative, team-player with high energy for dynamic company environment.
