As the Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist you will be located at the Tempe AZ USA manufacturing site and will be the Operations Sourcing liaison with Site Operations Planning Quality and Finance organizations in the resolution of supply related issues for Tempe located in Tempe AZ This role will be expected to sit onsite for 4 days a week in Tempe AZ site.

A Day in the Life

In this role you will participate and/or lead Sourcing strategic activities especially those involving product life cycle and supplier management including but not limited to: product/part phase in-phase Last time buy/Strategic and excess amp obsolete processes local sourcing related initiatives supplier delivery performance and inventory management. You will also support commodity management in pricing terms amp conditions and quality agreements with key strategic suppliers.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will participate and/or lead Sourcing strategic activities, especially those involving product life cycle and supplier management including but not limited to: product/part phase in-phase, Last time buy/Strategic and excess & obsolete processes, local sourcing related initiatives, supplier delivery performance and inventory management. You will also support commodity management in pricing, terms & conditions, and quality agreements with key strategic suppliers.

You will:
  • Maintain and promote strong relationships with Suppliers, Operations Scheduling, Supply Network Planning, Supplier Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Operations Quality, Category Management and any other internal customers;
  • Attend in-plant production meetings (Tier Reviews) - report status of key material issues/updates;
  • Participate in Tier Escalation Meetings with Functional and Site Leaders;
  • Develop and/or use existing tools/process (like Shortage Reports and/Clear2Build) to identify future component shortage risk and mitigate;
  • Communicate effectively unmitigated component shortages to stakeholders to ensure Operational mitigations are implemented to minimize Operations impact;
  • Attend Master Production Schedule (MPS) consensus meeting and communicate changes to Suppliers;
  • Monitor Strategic Inventory Purchases (SIP) / Last Time Buys (LTB) management and maintain tracking files;
  • Provide updates on Purchase Price Variance report;
  • Provide inventory reserve file updates;
  • Meet with shared services (Engineer / NPD), Material / Resin, Tooling Management to track completion of Projects that ensure Supply Continuity;
  • Support audits: Initiate supplier selection related audits (Contact/schedule) & site support for regulatory body audits;
  • Manage or support supplier capacity management initiatives to meet long term Requirements;
  • Manage and effectively communicate critical and on going delivery issues
  • Supports standard cost setting
  • Performs special projects as assigned including but not limited to: new product introductions, the coordination of phase out activities and material cost reduction initiatives (PPV);
  • Support excess and obsolescence process and raw material disposition at sites as needed;
  • Provide guidance on site prioritization on conflicting situations;
  • Attend/provide feedback for Supplier Relationship Management meetings (as applicable);
  • Perform special projects as assigned including but not limited to: Lifecycle Management, supports material cost reduction initiatives;
  • Participate in Cash Flow Initiatives
  • Create and present monthly and quarterly Procurement key performance indicator reviews;
  • Lead periodic Supplier Performance meetings, including content/scorecard development;
  • If applicable, liaison with the Category Management in the development of Category strategies, inputs and discussions about supplier performance scorecard and performance reviews (Quarterly Business Reviews).

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Materials Management, or Supply Chain related field;
  • Solid Office 365 skills, especially Excel knowledge (vlookup, pivot tables, formulas, macros, etc.);
  • Solid Analytical Skills, using PowerBI;
  • Expert understanding and experience with integrated manufacturing software systems
  • Working knowledge of Demand Flow, JIT, K-Loop, Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience in leading and influencing negotiations, project management, troubleshooting and problem-solving analysis, strategic thinking and collaborative team building.
  • Exposure to supply chain, planning, purchasing, materials and inventory control environment
