Job Description
The Travel and Expense Assistant will work as part of the Travel and Expense team within the Finance organization to provide support for travel and expense (“T&E”) related activities. The primary focus of this role is to audit and process employee expense reports using the SAP Concur system. This includes reviewing various expense types, identifying non-compliant trends, and ensuring strict adherence to the company's Travel & Expense (T&E) Policy and Healthcare Compliance. A key component of the role involves reconciling Healthcare Professional(HCP)-related expenses by reviewing manual sign-in sheets and cross-checking them with attendee lists to ensure consistency and accuracy between both sources of documentation.
The ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, will demonstrate sound judgment and strong attention to detail and will be motivated to learn and take on additional responsibility, without jeopardizing quality of existing responsibilities. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a vested interest in the T&E industry and keep up with industry trends.
REPSONSIBILITIES
·Audit and process employee expense reports in SAP Concur, ensuring compliance with T&E Policy.
·Review expense types for accuracy, proper documentation, and policy adherence.
·Identify and address non-compliant trends or discrepancies.
·Review and reconcile HCP-related expenses, including cross-checking manual sign-in sheets with attendee lists.
·Ensure alignment with internal and regulatory requirements for HCP expense reporting.
·Collaborate with Compliance, Finance, SAP Concur Audit, and other teams as needed.
·Support audit requests and maintain clear documentation of reviews.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
·Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
·1–3 years of experience in expense auditing, accounts payable, or finance operations.
·Working knowledge of SAP Concur or similar expense management systems.
·Strong attention to detail, ability to identify inconsistencies and interpret handwritten information.
·Ability to perform repetitive tasks without sacrificing their quality.
·Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
·Strong written, communication and organizational skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·Experience auditing Healthcare Professional (HCP) or compliance-sensitive expenses.
·Familiarity with Sunshine Act or similar regulatory reporting requirements.
·Experience working in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare setting.
·Knowledge of internal audit processes and documentation best practices.
·Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
·Excellent organization, self-awareness, and interpersonal skills.
·Highly motivated self-starter with a proven ability to learn new concepts independently.
·Trustworthy and works with the highest degree of integrity.
WORKING CONDITIONS REQUIREMENTS
·Commitment to work well in an office-based team environment and a remote capacity.
·Ability to endure long periods of time sitting in front of a computer screen.
Pay ranges between $35-40/hr for this postion
