Job Description


The RWD Analyst provides expertise in the querying of OMOP CDM as well as native data from a variety of real world data sources (e.g. claims, EMR, etc.) as part of the project feasibility and/or execution across the company's entire value chain geographic footprint and therapeutic areas. The deliverables of the RWD Analyst are an integral part of the RWD I&S mission and requires expertise in creation, quality control and maintenance of efficient and rapid queries typically via SQL and R; as well as supporting the development and optimization of the database structures of real-world datasets. The RWD Analyst will work closely with medical coders, data scientists and software developers and create SQL and R programs to conduct data quality checks, build cohorts and create descriptive anlaysis summaries, in support of requests from within and outside AIA. They should be able to apply logical thinking to identify data issues and collaborate with AIA colleagues to address these issues with minimal direction.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Querying and excuting feasibility and/or fast track analysis for broad functional users, including medical, internal business/commercial in an appropriate manner using SQL and/or R.
  • Optimizing, tuning query performance and developing automatic tools (e.g. R function) for frequent questions and routine reports
  • Supporting internal team on development of study plans and execution of studies under the direction of an analyst.
  • Perfoming quality control on that transformation of native real world data to OMOP CDM
  • Assisting the infrastructure team in the development and maintanence of database structures created from RWD I&S tools.
  • Following internal and external procedures, best practice guidelines, and regulations including company SOPs, internal standards such as templates and documentation standards.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, Computer Science OR 3-5 years of relevant prigramming experience
  • ?Excellent SQL programming skill with experience on large databases (i.e. millions of records across multiple tables)
  • Excellent R programming skills
  • Experience supporting healthcare analytics using data such as administrative insurance claims database and/or EMR databases (e.g., IBM-Truven, Optum, Humedica, IMS Pharmetrics +, GEhealth, Flatiron, etc.)
  • ?Work knowledge with common data models such as OMOP
  • ?Must be able to meet timelines with minimal supervision of progress, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to details, and the ability to multi-task
  • ?Team player with good communication skills


Preferred
  • Experience with OMOP
  • Masters Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • Preferable knowledge of at least one statistical package (e.g. R, S-Plus, Stata, …)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with reporting packages (e.g. Qlik, Tebleaue, Excel …)
  • Knowledge of coding against common real-world data types (claims and EMR) and common data models
  • Understanding of Data Warehouse, star schema and dimension fact data model.
