Job Description

The role will support the Lead of the Data Governace Operations Office to ensure effective data management, change management, data standards and solutions.  This individual must collaborate not only within the AIA group, but across all divisions, enabling and aligning data management initiatives and processes.  Data Governance operations support the adoption, management and maintenance of tools and assets that support the Data Governance Operations Office.  The role interacts with business areas and ensures that business and technical stewards understand and execute their roles and responsibilities
Essential Job Responsibilities: 
 
  1. Work with business areas to understand, document and align business requirements for local data governance activities to enterprise data governance policies, processes, standards and initiatives
  2. Perform complex data analysis to support data management decision-making for enterprise-wide data that considers requirements from multiple, disparate stakeholders
  3. Develop and execute test scripts in support of the implementation of data governance content and workflow processes in the data governance tool
  4. Participate in identifying and proposing solutions for data quality issues and change requests
  5. Liaise with the communications team to craft and deliver data governance messaging including release notes, announcements and other communications
  6. Track, monitor and publish data quality scorecards
  7. Help ensure alignment of data quality activities to business and data governance strategies
  8. Identify process improvement opportunities
  9. Gather business area level data quality metrics for consumption at the data governance operations office and data govenance committee level
  10. Coordinate with data stewards throughout the organization for transparency, support and status
  11. Stay current with the latest solutions, industry trends, standards, security and privacy policies and business applications in Data Governance
   
Organizational Context: 
  This position reports to the Director Global Data Governance within the Advanced Informatics and Analytics organization.  This is a new position.
Qualifications: 
     
    Required
  Understanding of data governance processes and principles
Strong process viewpoint and the ability to effectively communicate ideas and inputExperience writing business rules
Experience writing data quality rules
Experience writing business requirements
Ability to balance business needs with IT capabilities
Excellent root cause analysis skills
Experience with data governance applications    
    Preferred
  Experience with business process improvement
Credibility within the business
Collibra Experience
Pharmaceutical or other regulated experience
Experience working for global company
