Job Description Research Associate, Downstream Process Development
The Gene Therapy group is seeking to hire a Research Associate to become an integral part of the gene therapy drug development effort. We seek candidates who think critically and have the desire and ability to learn new techniques. This position requires adaptability and an ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment. A qualified candidate will have broad technical experience in molecular biology and nucleic acid purification process development.
Responsibility
· Independently execute experiments to develop efficient, effective downstream purification processes for DNA gene therapy vectors

· Applies engineering principles, scientific knowledge, and critical thinking to identify problems and develop solutions.

· Participate in cross-functional teams and the development and implementation of new technology.

· Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate experimental outcomes to internal teams and senior management.

· Present information and data in both written and verbal form

· Documents experimental and process data.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences (e.g. Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field) with 1-3 years of relevant postgraduate research experience.

· Industry experience preferred.

· Expertise in low and large-scale DNA production technologies.

· Familiarity with routine in-process analytics to support process development (e.g., DNA concentration, DNA purity, endotoxin).

· Strong ability in execution and driving for results independently.

· Familiarity with ELN platforms ideally with Benchling.

· Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.

 - Target 105k-130k range
