Position Summary
The position will contribute to the downstream process development of AAV gene therapies. This role is expected to support studies within the team, to generate and execute their own experimental designs, and generate material to support experiments. The candidate is expected to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert on chromatography and/or filtration unit operations
- Execute process development activities for chromatography (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion) and filtration processes including microfiltration, depth filtration, ultrafiltration, diafiltration, and sterile filtration.
- Execute new technology development initiatives, process development activities for Phase 1/2/3 programs, manufacturing investigation supporting activities, and program lifecycle management activities.
- Support analytical testing and implementation of in-process analytical assays as necessary.
- Collaborate with other functions and support downstream team members as necessary.
- Collects and controls experimental data and maintains accurate daily logs of experiments including methods, results, and conclusions.
- Ensure high-quality, timely documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks, technical reports and contribute to regulatory filings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology or a related discipline
- 4+ years (BS) or 2+ years (MS) relevant industrial experience in bioprocessing
- Expertise with ultracentrifugation, GE AKTA units, column chromatography, filtration and UF/DF (TFF) operations required.
- Understanding of analytical methods used to support biologics purification process development is needed
- Experience with recombinant viruses is a plus
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration, team-working skills and communication skills
- Demonstrated independent and self-driven research with a strong publication record
- Independently motivated and detail-oriented with good problem-solving ability
Pay $40-45/hr based on experience level
