Research Associate I
Description:
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Research Associate with molecular biology and cell culture experience to join our functional genomics team. The individual will collaborate closely with colleagues from our therapeutic area teams to develop design and build expression vectors and deliver them to a variety of different cell model systems. This person will support functional genomics scientists in execution of genome-wide screens (such as CRISPR) and will do development work in support of new screens.
Education and Experience:
The candidate for this position should have a BS/MS in a biological science discipline and at least 1 year of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or 3 years in an academic setting. Ideal candidates will have a depth of experience in molecular biology and cell culture.
Required Skills:
- Significant laboratory experience and technical skills in DNA cloning and mammalian cell culture are required.
- Experience with cell line engineering is preferred – ideally using multiple techniques (viral transduction, electroporation, lipofection).
- Experience using CRISPR tools for gene editing or knockout is preferred.
- Experience in gDNA and RNA isolation, RT-PCR, and NGS library generation is a plus.
- Excellent data analysis skills and experience with a variety of scientific software applications is required. Successful candidates will also have strong experimental design and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, time-management, and organizational skills are required.

- Target pay 39.00-45.00 per hour
