Job Description



The Research Associate will play a critical role in sample creation and preparation. These samples include plasmid preparation, cloning, RNA/DNA extraction from tissues, ddPCR, NGS library preparation. The Associate will also employ the methods for routine analysis of study samples. As a key member of the Vector Bioscience team, you will be contributing directly to these activities as hands-on experimenter and by analysis and interpretation of the data.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Amplification of plasmid DNA, cloning, extraction and preparation of nucleic acid samples from a variety of biological specimens, including tissues and biological fluids.
  • Quantification of DNA and RNA in biological samples using ddPCR.
  • Contemporaneous and error-free documentation of assay execution and results in electronic lab notebooks and organized electronic folders.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned time-to-time.
Must Have Required Research Associate II:
  • Bachelors degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences or a related discipline with 2-5+ years experience or a Masters degree with 1-2+ years experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in molecular biology techniques, such as isolation and quantification of nucleic acids, cDNA synthesis, cloning, DNA sequencing, ddPCR. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior success working flexibly in a cross-functional team environment.
  • May Have/Preferred Experience with SnapGene, Excel, and similar applications
