Job Description


The mRNA therapy group in Westborough, MA is part of Discovery Intelligence (DI) under Applied Research and Operations (ARO) which will be responsible for developing and implementing platform technologies that will differentiate our drug discovery capabilities, including but not limited to modality, assay, digital and robotics technologies and their combinations.

We are looking for a Research Associate contractor who is up to the challenge and wants to learn and grow with the team during the process of establishing fundamental and engineered technology platforms for mRNA therapy.

The qualifications are
  • Masters degree preferred in molecular biology or related subjects. Bachelors degree with at least 2-3 years of lab experience
  • Familiar with research lab settings and can proficiently use common small lab instruments
  • Skills in molecular biology and cell-based mRNA and protein detection assays highly preferred
  • Skills in bioinformatics a plus

Communications: Has basic communication skills in the industry setting. Demonstrate a sense of purpose and sense of urgency. Good work ethics and self-motivation a must-have.

Responsibilities: 90% of time on mRNA therapy related research work in lab. 10% of time on helping Lab managing and procurement related work.
  • Provide molecular biology skills in plasmid design, primer design, barcode design, etc., and perform molecular biology related experiments such ad RT-qPCR, ddPCR etc.
  • IVT plasmid ordering and inventory management for internal team and collaboration teams, IVT reagent and kit ordering and inventory management
  • Share the workload for IVT, mRNA QC (gel, bioanalyzer, dsRNA, etc.), generate IVT mRNA COAs
  • Share the workload of flask-based EV production to help speed up experiment turnaround time
  • Share the workload of LNP QC
  • Share the workload of LNP screening for AIRM collaborations
  • Perform ad hoc experiments as required
