Target Pay Rate: 50-60/hr **salary will be commensurate with experience 
Job Summary:
 

The Obesity, Muscle and Metabolism (OMM) group at client is committed to discovering novel targets and innovative medicines to treat diabetes, dyslipidemia and obesity. We are looking for a motivated Scientist who will contribute to an in vitro group focused on implementing new technology platforms and providing molecular biology expertise for the department. 

As a Scientist in Muscle and Metabolism, a typical day may include the following:

  • Application of molecular biology and cell biology expertise towards the implementation of novel enabling technologies

  • Developing and validating cell-based and biochemical assays
  • Providing molecular and cellular biology support to team members, when needed
  • Performing common procedures such as cell culture, flow cytometry, and expression/affinity purification of recombinant proteins

This role could be for you if:

  • You pay attention to details and have good organizational skills, to manage multiple projects.

  • You are a critical thinker, enjoy a fast-paced environment and are comfortable working with challenging projects. 

  • You are proficient with commonly used software applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism, DNA analysis software)

  • You possess excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

 

To be considered for this position, you must have MS with 6-8 years OR BS with 8-10 years of full-time relevant experience. A strong background in molecular and cellular biology with expertise in assay development is preferred.
