Target Pay Rate: 29.75-37.25/hr **salary will be commensurate with experience?
Position Summary:
This is a unique opportunity to join a talented team of scientists at the frontiers of innovation in Next Generation Sequencing NGS. As a Scientist 1 contractor at client you will work in a dynamic collaborative environment and help create novel molecular biology tools for the preparation of samples for analysis on?platforms with applications in oncology reproductive health and clinical microbiology. You will collaborate with key external and internal partners to develop new applications and to exemplify our current products. Through integration of molecular biology sequencing chemistry and hardware components you will participate in the development of high quality robust new products. This position will require working locally in the research lab. Hiring manager may extend the contract as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enable the development optimization and execution of assays relevant to NGS workflows.
- Contribute to the development of innovative processes and research ideas.
- Identify creative solutions to overcome limitations.
- Identify new opportunities for innovative products using the companies core technologies.
- Be self-motivated to contribute across different projects.
- Participate in collaborative research by engaging across development and manufacturing departments.
- Analyze large complex data sets and use this information to make conclusions and drive the direction of future experiments.
- Be both a strong individual contributor as well as a collaborative team member.
- Write reports and present results and project assessments.
- Effectively multi-task and prioritize activities.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Spend a minimum of 70 of working hours executing laboratory-based activities.
Qualifications:
- A science degree B.S. M.S or Ph.D. in any of the following field is required: chemistry biochemistry or molecular biology with 2-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Ability to design experiments and troubleshoot aberrant results.
- Excellent work ethic and passion for growth in the scientific field.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with internal and external team collaborators and is willing to give and receive constructive feedback to promote mutual growth.
- Critical think and data analysis is required.
- Experience in molecular cloning techniques.
- Experience with HPLC LC-MS is a plus.
- Experience in a regulated and/or GMP manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Expertise with next-generation sequencing platforms a plus.
- Experience with NGS Library Prep and data analysis is a plus.
