Scientist I - Structural Biology - Contractor 

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Scientist I to join the Structural Biology (X-Ray Crystallography) team and support multiple oncology therapeutic programs, mostly through generation of protein crystal structures. Working from the bench, they will apply their expertise in protein purification, identification and optimization of crystallization conditions, and routine production and harvesting of co-crystals of protein and small molecules.


Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Ph.D + 2 years of experience in Biotech/Pharma

  • Experience with protein handling, characterization, and storage (FPLC or HPLC techniques like SEC and affinity chromatography. PAGE, quantitation via Bradford and nanodrop etc.).

  • Experience with growing and harvesting protein crystals highly desirable. Prior use of crystallographic software suites (CCP4, Phenix) and visualization software (PyMOL, Chimera) also highly desirable.

  • Experience with protein-protein complexes including antibodies/Fabs, molecular glues, PROTACs, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow written protocols and document research progress.

  • Rigorous, quantitative, detail-oriented experimentalist.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Conscientious team-player interested in a fast-paced biotech environment.

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and improve processes.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with biophysical characterization such as MS, Thermal Shift Analysis, SPR a plus.

  • Experience with protein-ligand crystallization and refinement

  • Experience in protein expression including construct design and protein engineering.
