Target PR Range: 26-36/hr

Seeking a highly motivated flow cytometry scientist to join the Flow Lab team in managing the day-to-day activities of the Flow Cytometry Core Lab. This position requires advanced technical expertise and the ability to provide highly complex multi-parameter flow cytometry and multi-dimensional sorting support to Discovery, Translational, and Clinical research in Oncology. The successful candidate must possess exceptional organizational skills, be a team player, and biology or related field. This individual will work closely with multiple principal investigators, pathologists, and clinical research scientists to ensure accurate, relevant, and reproducible data. 
 Key Responsibilities:
•    Be responsible for day-to-day flow cytometer instruments operation and lab organization.
•    Implement routine QC and maintenance procedures on a regularly basis. Perform instrument troubleshooting when needed.
•    Maintain and document daily Core activities. Adhere to implemented electronic record keeping, and data management systems. 
•    Work as part of a highly collaborative team. Conduct laboratory experiments to characterize and optimize flow cytometric assays.
•    Provide advanced technical skills in the application of flow cytometry/cell sorting technologies to solve research problems to advance Discovery, Translational, and Clinical research pipeline in Oncology.
•    Independently and consistently execute highly complex sorting experiments, while maintaining a clean and aseptic cell sorting environment.
•    Design, optimize, and execute high-parameter flow cytometry experiments following the best practices of the field.
•    Develop and deliver scientific reports in the form of oral presentation and writing.
•    Consult and train researchers in operation of flow cytometry analyzers, cell sorters, and data analysis. 
•    Aid development of new flow cytometry experimental assays, execution, and data interpretation. 
•    Maintain an advanced level of scientific knowledge and keep up with current developments and trends in the field of flow cytometry.
•    Opportunity for collaborative work with other groups across scientific disciplines; maintain close communication with cross-functional teams to plan and execute assays in flow cytometry-related research projects.

Minimum Qualifications
•    BS or MS in biology or related field with 2 years (BS), or 1+ years (MS) of pharmaceutical and/or relevant experience.
•    Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
•    Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and multitasking capabilities.
•    Previous cell and molecular biology research laboratory experience.
•    Knowledge of lab safety procedures and requirements, and waste disposal guidelines.
•    Maintain detailed and organized experimental records.
•    Ability to conduct and report on scientific experiments and findings.
•    Ability to safely handle potentially biohazardous materials. 
•    Some light lifting (20L) on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Strong preference towards candidate with 2+ years of flow cytometry experience in a Core facility or Shared Resource environment.
•    Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting flow cytometers, both hardware and software. 
•    Technical skills in performing multiparameter flow cytometry and analyzing the data. 
•    Technical skills in cell culturing, working in aseptic conditions, sample preparation and cell staining. 
•    Demonstrated expertise in developing and optimizing cell-based assays.
•    Work independently and multitask under fixed timelines. 
•    Agile and adaptable to contribute on various projects outside of his/her own and collaborate with partners from all relevant functions.
•    Proactively support the team by being a team player and foster strong cross-team and cross-functional collaborations. 
•    Prior experience with various flow cytometry instruments: BD, Cytek, Beckman Coulter, Sony, BioRad.
•    Prior experience with various flow cytometric analytical software including: FACSDiva, SpectroFlo, NxT, Everest, FlowJo, FCS Express, OMIQ.
•    Cytometry Certification SCYM(ASCP)CM
•    Prior experience in Customer service activities.
