We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist 2 (contractor) to join the Predictive Sciences group in the Department of BioAnalytical Sciences. Our group is responsible for developing and implementing cell-based assays to support drug candidate selection for desirable pharmacokinetics (PK) properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, validating and executing biochemical and cellular assays to support research and development projects in our South San Francisco location, with a focus on cell-based assays and immunoassays to evaluate and quantitatively measure cellular transport of drug candidates, including ELISA, transcytosis assay, and applying cutting-edge technologies such as high content imaging. In addition, following and writing assay protocols and technical reports, presenting data at cross-functional team meetings, and laboratory maintenance are required.

Job Requirement
  • A BS/MS in Cell Biology, Immunology, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in cell culture and assay development in industry and/or academic setting (MS preferred).
  • Previous experience and expertise in cell-based assay development is a must. Proven expertise in cell culture, immunoassays and cell staining is required.
  • Experience working with imaging techniques (preferred; e.g. confocal imaging or high content imaging), or flow cytometry are highly desired.
  • Previous experience with mass spectrometry, pharmacokinetics modeling, or biomolecular interaction techniques such as Octet or Biacore is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, multitasking and organizational skills are required. This individual should be able to work independently, as well as within teams, to demonstrate initiative and creativity and to prioritize tasks.



Pay Rate Range: $40-50/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience
