Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Temporary Senior Associate Scientist to join client's Auditory research team. You will be involved in basic research studies designed to understand the biology behind various forms of hearing loss and impairment.
In this role, a typical day may include:
- Planning and performing in vitro and ex vivo experiments to address core questions of hearing biology, and carefully analyze and evaluate data.
- Performing cell culture with immortalized cell lines, iPSC-derived cells and primary cultures, and cell-based assays (ICC, flow cytometry).
- Planning, initiating, and completing molecular biology and biochemistry assays: molecular cloning, PCR, RT-qPCR, and WB.
- Performing data analysis (ImageJ, FlowJo, Prism) and troubleshooting under minimal supervision.
- Keeping up-to-date and well-organized records of experimental protocols and results.
- Communicating and reporting experimental findings at group and departmental meetings.
- Surveying current and relevant literature to expand scientific and technical knowledge and optimize and develop new assays.

To be considered for this role, you must have a BS or MS in Biology, or related field with 2-5 plus years of relevant experience. We need someone with extensive tissue culture experience, capable of performing in vitro functional assays in various cell lines. A solid understanding of molecular biology and auditory sciences is advantageous. Experience in rodent handling and necropsy is very helpful.
