Target PR Range: 74-84/hr

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

 

 

Research and Development Engineering is responsible for developing and implementing new products and performing sustaining activities for commercially available products.  These responsibilities are done through adherence to established design control procedures and good engineering and documentation practices.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Design, Developing and debugging for electro-mechanical medical devices.
  • Developing required documentation, design history files for the electro-mechanical devices.
  • Supervising junior members of the team including contractors in developing those devices.
  • Manage 3rd party contract development of medical devices.
  •

  • Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to a wide variety of projects.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals.
  • Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models.
  • Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope.
  • Provides solutions which may set precedent.
  • Independently determines method for completion of new projects.
  • Receives guidance on overall project objectives.
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues.
Skills:
  • Software development in a real time operating system environment.
  • Software development for mechatronic systems.
  • C, C++, Python.
  • Experience working in a medical environment to the ISO 13485 standard.
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304 – Medical Device Software Standard and the application of Risk Management per ISO 14971
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering.)
  • A minimum of 6+ years related work experience preferred
  • Aptitude to contribute to strategic goal-setting for department/business unit.
