Senior Research Associate, In vitro Pharmacology

Seeking a curious, driven, and self-motivated Senior Research Associate, In vitro Pharmacology. The successful candidate will report to the Associate Director of Pharmacology and provide laboratory support for research experiments across multiple therapeutic programs. Responsibilities will include performing tissue culture activities, conducting in vitro cell-based assays, running standard biochemical plate-based ELISAs, and helping with lab operations.


Responsibilities
  • Play a significant role in overseeing tissue culture activities including cell line maintenance and banking as well as performing in vitro cell-based assays.
  • Perform cell-based assays for characterizing drug activities, for example: using reporter cell lines for signaling readouts and measuring cell viability or cytotoxicity using fluorescence-based methods.
  • Carry out biochemical plate-based ELISA assays for characterizing protein-protein interactions.
  • Contribute to writing standard operating protocols (SOPs) and help establish guidelines and processes for efficient conduct and experimentation in a tissue culture setting
  • Be a team player and help with Lab Operation duties as needed (ordering, waste management, instrument maintenance)
  • Analyze and communicate data to the Discovery Research Team and at times broader teams

Qualifications
  • BS, MS, or equivalent degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field with 5 years research experience in molecular and cellular biology, assay development, or field related to drug discovery
  • Direct hands-on experience supporting in vitro cell-based research efforts in a collaborative drug discovery setting
  • Experience with flow cytometry methods and assays would be a plus but not required
  • Ability to translate research techniques and processes into standard lab protocols and SOPs
  • Capacity to work on multiple projects in parallel, closely track progress, and operate within project timelines
  • Good communication skills, ability to present data clearly in a group setting and to a variety of audiences
  • Familiar with standard software for data analysis: Excel, GraphPad Prism, etc.
