Software Test Engineer II

Position Description:

This position has the responsibility to develop and perform V&V activities to ensure software meet requirements, user’s needs, and quality and reliability standards.   Work is performed independently under general direction.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute V&V test plans, protocols, reports, and test procedures.
  • Adhere to internal quality processes and procedures, produce quality artifacts such as verification and validation plans and test reports.
  • Utilize new tools to assist in test automation efforts throughout the product development process.
  • Identify, report, and track defects found as part of automation and manual verification activities. Participate in identifying the root cause of the defects.
  • Work within established development standards and methodologies, including agile development.

Basic Qualification:
  • BS in Computer Science or other engineering or sciences.
  • 2+ years of experience in software testing or software development
  • Experience with Jira, Git and Bitbucket

Specialized Knowledge Required
  • Proficient in scripting and/or programming in Python or similar language.
  • Ability to read and understand software requirement specifications, detailed design documents.
  • Ability to write software test plans, protocols, and reports.
  • Skilled in the identification and debug of software and hardware defects.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Software testing experience in the medical industry or other regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of modern, iterative software design processes and development practices including agile.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of FDA Quality System Regulations
  • Familiarity with IEC 62304 - Medical device software – Software life cycle processes
