Job Description

Position Overview:
The Test Engineer, Software plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and compliance of medical device software through comprehensive verification and validation testing. This role involves performing informal and formal software verification, supporting R&D, and contributing to test and specification development. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of software testing principles and regulatory requirements in the medical device industry.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute resolution procedures in JIRA and track defect resolution.
• Conduct test dry runs and provide feedback for reviews.
• Perform ad-hoc software testing and collaborate with R&D teams.
• Participate in daily standup meetings to align with project goals.
• Conduct and review verification tracing to ensure software requirements are met.
• Review and approve new and updated test cases for software validation.
• Review and approve new and updated specifications and requirements.
• Perform software tool qualifications as needed for compliance.
• Develop new software test cases for change requests and software updates.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management System responsibilities.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience in medical device software development and testing).
• 3+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in the medical device industry or another regulated environment.
• Strong technical writing skills for documentation and test case development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.
• Thorough understanding of software testing principles and best practices.
• Proven experience in designing and executing manual tests for complex software systems.
• Experience testing software using IIS, ASP.NET, Web/Windows Services, and SQL.
• Proficiency in Windows Server administration, including setup, deployment, configuration, and log analysis.
• Familiarity with medical device regulatory requirements and compliance standards

Pay ranges between $25-30/hr based on expereince
