Job Description


Looking for a senior engineer with analogue design experience and preferably with RF knowledge.  Also looking for someone with solid Altium experience.  It is a CAD tool for schematic capture and board layout design.


The Senior Electrical Engineer will be an individual contributor within the Lung Health - Electrical System Design Team.   The individual will be supporting the effort to prepare for the EUMDR submission and be involved in all phases of product development including definition, design, troubleshooting, characterization, and verification of electrical systems and components. The individual will be an integral part of the R&D organization delivering the highest quality, lifesaving technology to our patients.  

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
  • Support EU-MDR Product submission
  • Released Product Engineering
  • Provide technical leadership on complex design programs. 
  • Interpret and decompose system and product requirements, verify compliance.
  • Provide electrical engineering skills to design, develop, analyze, and debug new product designs including RF, analog, and digital circuits.
  • Integrate electronics, firmware, and mechanical designs into final product
  • Develop production test requirements and support development of manufacturing test applications
  • Support manufacturing sites including PCB and Device assembly
  • Develop test procedures to evaluate, characterize, and verify new electrical and product designs.
  • Develop test environments including automation and emulation
  • Validation of test environments including method validation and non-product software validation
  • Mentor junior level engineers

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with Medical Device Regulations including 21 CFR part 820, EUMDR
  • Demonstrated technical leadership ability
  • Strong background in PCB design methodology including CAD tools and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated experience using design software such as Mentor Graphics, Cadence, Altium
  • Demonstrated experience using simulation and modeling tools such as LTSPICE, Ansys – Designer, Ansys SI Wave
  • Understanding and experience in RF and analog design, development, and test Experience with design, verification, and validation of Class II medical devices or similar regulated product
  • Experience with medical device design controls (e.g. ISO 13485) and risk analysis (e.g. ISO 14971)
  • Demonstrated experience in the following areas: IEC 60601 Electrical Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility, RoHS compliance, REACH compliance, Electronic prototyping (i.e. rapid PCB design and testing)
  • Demonstrated ability to assess the feasibility of emerging technologies through research and prototyping
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Design, Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) certification
  • Demonstrated strength in building strong relationships at all levels of the organization, cross-functionally, and with key people external to the organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
