Our client is looking for a Senior Advisor, Solution Architect wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is a remote position with a Monday – Friday day shift.
Position Summary:
In this role, you will lead the strategy, architecture, and development of next-generation solutions that underpin our diagnostic and laboratory operations. Drive the evolution of a highly configurable, low/no-code LIMS platform that empowers lab personnel to create and modify workflows without extensive coding expertise. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—engineering, clinical operations, product management, and business stakeholders—to ensure that each solution aligns with our client's strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the selection and implementation of low/no-code tools that streamline LIMS workflows and minimize reliance on custom development.
- Create design guidelines that ensure every new feature can be adapted via configuration rather than heavy engineering, improving time-to-market.
- Architect and enhance next-generation Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to improve laboratory workflows, data tracking, and sample management.
- Ensure interoperability with various healthcare standards and protocols (HL7, FHIR) while integrating third-party medical devices and systems.
- Guide the selection and implementation of modern frameworks, tools, and APIs to advance functionality and user experience for clinicians and lab staff.
- Define and implement overarching software architecture principles to guide development teams in creating scalable, robust, and maintainable systems.
- Lead architectural reviews and provide technical oversight to ensure design consistency, performance, and security across all solutions.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operational teams to balance innovation with risk mitigation, budget, and timeline constraints.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports our client’s growth, focusing on data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Establish robust data governance policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, CLIA, CAP).
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Solution Architecture, or a related field is required.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development and architecture, ideally with a focus on healthcare or laboratory systems.
- Proven track record working with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, CLIA, and CAP.
- High sense of urgency
- Hands-on experience integrating low-code platforms (e.g., Sapio, LabVantage, or equivalent) into LIMS solutions to expedite delivery and reduce custom code.
- Familiarity with visual workflow design tools and configuration-driven frameworks to enable rapid prototyping and iterative enhancements.
- Demonstrated success in designing, deploying, or enhancing large-scale Laboratory Information Management Systems, including knowledge of laboratory workflows and integrations.
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure), optimizing cost, performance, and security in a production environment.
- Hands-on experience in data modeling, governance, and integration, including working with ETL/ELT pipelines and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
- Expertise in microservices, RESTful APIs, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.
- History of leading cross-functional teams, mentoring engineering talent, and driving alignment between technical and business stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), encryption techniques, and robust auditing processes relevant to healthcare.
- Expertise in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) and advanced CI/CD pipeline architectures.
- Familiarity with large-scale data processing tools (Spark, Hadoop) or machine learning frameworks.
- Prior work in genomics, diagnostics, or advanced healthcare analytics platform strongly preferred
